80 Degrees and Sunny!

Things have slowed down a bit here--we are getting well-adjusted to how life is at the Center. We have made some new friends...including one couple from the Saint Cloud area that have a little boy 3 months older than Patrick. Jason has met many people in the hangar and is starting to get very excited about the Technical Evaluation in the fall. Keri is enjoying the kitchen, although she is typically the youngest volunteer in there by a couple decades! Patrick is a crazy-kid at the MK Station! He cries at first, which leaves Mom with mixed emotions, but then he plays hard all morning. He has been averaging 3 to 4 hour naps each day!

This week Jason will be driving to the other side of Charlotte to pick up an engine for his car then stopping at NAPA to buy all the necessary and "highly suggested" accessories/parts/gaskets for it. God was good when the transmission was put in, so we're praying that He has the same plan in mind for this engine! JAARS has the facility, tools and people with the expertise to help if necessary, which is great!

We have found a local church--Waxhaw Bible Church. It was recommended to us by our recruiters. On our first weekend here we checked it out with the intention to "church shop" for a while--but why "shop around" when the first place is what you're looking for? They are very involved in missions (in fact many JAARS/Wycliffe people attend), the pastor is on track with what we believe and his sermons overflow with Scripture, the people are very welcoming and kind, and Jesus is obviously present! What is really fun is that we watch Church of the Open Door sermons online, and both churches right now are using generally the same Scriptures to express two 'similar but different' ideas. If you're curious the link is www.waxhawbiblechurch.org.

Our apartment building looking across Crystal Lake (which Patrick loves to throw rocks in and watch the fish!)

Puddles! A boy's favorite thing!

Patrick is doing his new sign-language for airplane--he waves his hands all around and makes the 'airplane noise.' Notice, in the middle picture he has shorts on but in this one he doesn't--that's because he likes to sit down in puddles!
